Women We Admire is a rapidly expanding organization comprising women executives and leaders throughout North America, addressing diverse topics and areas of interest with the aim of acknowledging the accomplishments of outstanding women.

Expressing her gratitude, DeMartino remarked, “I am honored to be named to the 2023 Top Women Leaders of New Jersey by Women We Admire. Many thanks to The College of New Jersey for being such a supportive place to work, and to my staff for their hard work and dedication to our student-centered philosophy.”

Women We Admire celebrates the achievements of its Top Women Leaders, recognizing them for not only breaking gender barriers but also for championing further advancements in gender equality, particularly in traditionally male-dominated industries. The notable women leaders highlighted this year in New Jersey have predominantly assumed pivotal roles showcasing their commitment to humanitarian efforts, human resources, education, non-profit organizations—especially in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI)—and the economic empowerment of minorities.

As the recipient of the 2022 NACDA Athletic Director of the Year award, DeMartino assumed leadership of one of the most successful NCAA Division III athletics departments in the nation in 2017, and her guidance has continued to propel the department to success. DeMartino actively participates in various committees, including the NJAC Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Women Leaders in College Sports Membership Committee, and the New Jersey Athletic Conference Awards, Membership, and Men’s Tennis Committees.

DeMartino joined from Raritan Valley Community College, where she served as the director of athletics from August 2011. Before her time at RVCC Golden Lions, she held the position of athletic director at Northwood University in West Palm Beach, Fla. DeMartino is a graduate of Brandeis University, holding an undergraduate degree in economics, and she earned her master’s degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University. Additionally, she is a member of several esteemed organizations, including the National Association of Collegiate Director of Athletics, Women Leaders in College Sports, Women in Sports & Events, and Collegiate Athletic Administrators of NJ.
