Inaugural Boards Have 50/50 Women Bridging the Gap for First-Time

Women

The first edition of the 50 Women to Watch for Boards list, published by 50/50 Women on Boards (50/50WOB), the leading nonprofit education and advocacy campaign driving the movement towards gender balance and diversity on corporate boards, features a diverse group of exceptionally qualified women leaders from various sectors across North America who are ready to serve on public company boards.

Companies and recruiters can obtain verified, board-ready, first-time director candidates on the list according to location, primary industry, race, and ethnicity. Companies can overcome the gap in their quest for highly competent women directors thanks to this complete method.

According to Heather Spilsbury, Chief Operating Officer of 50/50 Women on Boards, “We are honoured to celebrate and amplify this prestigious group of women directors who represent the next generation of board leadership.” The 50 Women to Watch for Boards project, which closes the gender gap on corporate boards, is ground-breaking. These extraordinary women are ready to have a good, long-lasting impact on business.

Each finalist will receive unmatched exposure and awareness as a reward for their accomplishments from 50/50WOB and its campaign partners, Equilar and Nasdaq. A membership invitation to the Nasdaq Centre for Board Excellence will be extended to the first cohort. The organisation has also received an invitation from Equilar to sign up for its BoardEdge platform, ensuring its visibility on a website where corporate leaders look for candidates for board positions. As the year progresses, 50/50WOB will offer specialised training and exposure through its networks and events to enable these remarkable women advance their board careers and put them on the road to success.
